About This Opportunity

As Associate General Counsel, you will support business teams operating at the intersection of the financial services, healthcare, incentives and e-commerce sectors. Your core focus will be supporting and advising our business teams on matters impacting distribution partnerships with some of the world's best-known consumer brands. You will draft and negotiate complex contract terms related to product distribution, commercial incentives, intellectual property and risk management. You will work with multiple internal and external groups simultaneously and will often collaborate with other in-house attorneys to support your business teams.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts related to the prepaid and stored value industry including distribution, resale, e-commerce and vendor agreements.
  • Assist business units in resolving business and contractual disputes.
  • Understand business needs and goals, detect legal issues and obstacles, identify solutions and alternatives, and counsel and communicate with executives and managers regarding legal risks, solutions, and alternatives.
  • Provide general legal support to evolving technology-based financial services business.

Qualifications

  • Juris doctorate and bar membership in US state.
  • 2+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in a corporate law department or law firm.
  • Meaningful experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts (including those based on in-house templates and forms provided by third parties).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide counsel and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries, and analyze legal issues in area of practice and provide effective advice to business clients on routine legal matters.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, emotional IQ, interpersonal skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Team-player and growth mindset. This role requires a willingness to assist legal team members and to learn new skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines with confidence to support commercial leaders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • This is a hybrid role with no strict in-office requirement. InComm Payments is based in Atlanta, GA, and strives to maintain a balance between the flexibility of remote work and the value of in-person collaboration and team building. Our ideal candidate is willing to maintain a flexible 1-2 day per week in-person schedule in our brand-new headquarters, located at Perimeter Summit.
  • Experience developing and maintaining contract precedent and template database. Our ideal candidate is excited to leverage and develop scalable contracting processes and knowledge management tools (including through use of AI) with hands-on training.
  • Experience in the financial services, information technology or e-commerce fields.
