Job Summary:

The Associate Directors for Employer Relations and Pipeline Development will increase competitive opportunities available to our students by cultivating strong partnerships with industry leaders, alumni, and professional groups. These roles are responsible for raising the profile, number, and quality of full-time and internship opportunities by developing and implementing outreach strategies that expand the Marist employer network. These positions will be responsible for outreach, relationship, cultivation, and tangible connections within specific industry clusters. Finally, these positions will assist the Employer Relations team with career-related events and workshops, ensuring that our programs are aligned with current industry demands, trends, and Marist's strategic plan (Marist 100).

These position support will support employer engagement efforts for students pursuing careers in the following industries: 1) Business and Technology, 2) Arts, Fashion, Languages, and Communications, or 3) Health Professions, Human Services, and Non-Profits.

Minimum Qualifications:

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct regular virtual, phone, and in-person meetings with employers, alumni, and industry partners to cultivate relationships and identify internship, professional mentorship, and full-time employment opportunities for Marist students and alumni. Represent Career Services at employer site visits, alumni events, professional association meetings, and campus-based engagements to strengthen institutional partnerships.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for assigned industry sectors, maintaining ongoing communication with employer and alumni partners to understand evolving hiring needs, skill expectations (career competencies), AI, and data-informed workforce trends.
  • Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of internship data and first-destination outcomes for students and alumni, ensuring accurate tracking of employment, internship, and graduate school data.
  • Document employer and alumni interactions and disseminate key insights, opportunities, and industry trends to the Career Services team through meetings, reports, and shared systems (including Handshake, PeopleGrove, etc.). Constantly research assigned industries to find potential new contacts and internship and post-grad opportunities.
  • Collaborate with career coaches, faculty partners, and employer relations colleagues to translate employer feedback into actionable career education strategies and student programming.
  • Maintain ongoing statistics and generate regular reports analyzing the metrics aligning a strategic recruiting strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education career services or employer relations experience.
  • Corporate recruiting, university relations, or talent acquisition experience.
  • Experience developing internship and early-career talent pipelines.

    • Typical eligibility requirements: 1 year of service and 1,000 hours with Marist University.
  • 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity - Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.
  • Tuition Benefits:
    • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
    • University pays 100% tuition only.
    • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

*Eligibility requirements including waiting periods and/or employee probationary periods may apply at the discretion of the University.
