Full Job Description
The Associate Director, Social is a senior social leader responsible for developing brands through social media by identifying target consumers, setting clear goals, building effective content strategies, and driving measurable engagement. This role bridges high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution, owning key client relationships and guiding a team of Social Media Managers and Strategists to deliver exceptional results across content planning, community management, influencer marketing, and campaign reporting. The Associate Director, Social is a trusted client partner, a confident presenter, and a mentor who elevates the capabilities of everyone around them.

What You'll Do Here
  • Develop and confidently present social strategies and integrated campaigns to clients, translating business goals into clear social initiatives.
  • Lead annual and quarterly social planning aligned with client goals, product launches, and seasonal priorities.
  • Act as the day-to-day strategic lead for key client accounts, providing briefs, approvals, feedback, and oversight to maintain strong output and momentum.
  • Develop measurement plans that prove out effectiveness against client goals, including KPIs, benchmarks, and reporting frameworks.
  • Monitor campaign performance and work with Social Media Managers and Strategists to tell compelling stories with data; provide insightful reporting, campaign recaps, and case studies.
  • Stay current with all social platform trends and evolutions including AI, VR/AR, and emerging formats. Deliver agency POVs internally and to clients.
  • Bring new and innovative ideas to clients and agency partners, stretching the vision toward what could be.
  • Collaborate with Social Media Managers and Strategists to ensure content calendars, campaigns, community management, and influencer initiatives are developed and measured effectively.
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to a team of Social Media Managers, Strategists, and Content Creators; oversee their performance and support their development.
  • Identify moments to proactively support clients and prove the agency's value through platform insights and creative ideas.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, media, and account teams to ensure cohesive social storytelling.

We Need a Person With
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a relevant field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in social media strategy, with a strong preference for agency or well-known brand experience.
  • 2-3 years of people management experience required.
  • Proven experience creating social strategies, managing campaigns across multiple platforms, and reporting on performance.
  • Experience with social planning, listening, and reporting tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Meltwater, Brandwatch, Hootsuite, Helixa, Upfluence, Mavrck).
  • Experience developing and executing influencer marketing programs.
  • Strong track record of client-facing presentations and relationship management including commanding a room, building rapport, and handling conflict with composure.
  • Deep understanding of all major social platforms, current and emerging, including: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, X, and Pinterest.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills; ability to write clear, insight-led briefs, strategic frameworks, and client-facing narratives.
  • Proven ability to understand performance data and translate it into strategic recommendations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through and deadline management.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple simultaneously

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
