Job Summary

The Associate Dean of Nursing Programs is a member of the leadership team for the School of Nursing. Under the direction of the Dean and in close collaboration with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate programs is responsible for leadership and oversight of the development, implementation and evaluation of outstanding innovative academic programs in the School of Nursing. This position assumes responsibility for the accreditation, curriculum development, and evaluation and assessment of all program outcomes. The Associate Dean of Nursing Programs will provide leadership and direction to faculty and professional staff in the development of initiatives and academic activities that promote student success, help to meet expected program outcomes, as well as align with the Endicott College mission to provide students with meaningful experiential learning. An academic appointment, if applicable, will be determined separately in accordance with the College’s academic appointment process.

Primary Outcomes

40 % Time

Lead the SON in successful program-level and institutional-level accreditation activities with all accreditation and oversight boards.

  • Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
  • New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)
  • Leads the SON in assessment and evaluation of all program outcomes.
  • Develops, oversees and implements the evaluation process of all programs including survey development, refinement, and analysis of outcomes.
  • Works with the Dean to develop and implement the systematic plan of evaluation and reporting to accreditation agencies.

40 % Time

Ensure a high-quality graduate curriculum with exceptional program outcomes that features meaningful, innovative and experiential teaching strategies in line with the mission of the School of Nursing and the college.

  • Ensure licensure and certification success through oversight, implementation, and effective use of programs (Fitzgerald Course).
  • Collaborate with Program Chairs regarding curricular needs for adjunct laboratory, simulation and clinical faculty.
  • Assist with the vetting, appointing, orienting and mentoring of faculty members while also creating an atmosphere of inclusivity and community within the SON.
  • Oversee regular performance evaluations of faculty and professional staff to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Oversee direct reports and promote a positive and inclusive work environment that supports the professional growth of staff while fostering a commitment to academic innovation and excellence.
  • Assist the Dean in development and management of the operating and capital budgets.

Represent the SON in the community through participation in scholarship, service, and professional development activities that promote the school.

  • Support Admission and Recruiting events – especially at the graduate level which requires the Associate Dean to work very closely with the Admission/Recruiting and Marketing/Communications Department (website design) and program chairs to establish and implement effective recruiting measures for graduate programs.
  • Attain revenue targets for the graduate programs.
  • Advises students based on needs of the school.
  • Teaches 2 courses/year based on the needs of the school.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Doctorate in nursing or related field; experience with a professional accreditation;
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills and proficiency in English language;
  • Commitment to inclusive education and developing cultural competencies among faculty, staff and students with a lens toward social justice;
  • Documented record of academic scholarship in a related field;
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
  • Evidence of outstanding teaching competencies, including online, lab, and simulation;

  • Evidence of a commitment to service;
  • Active participation in professional organizations;
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with high interest in working with all levels of learners (traditional, non-traditional and adult students);
  • Self-directed with excellent organizational skills;
  • Detailed-oriented and student centered are essential to the position;
  • The position is based out of Beverly, MA;
  • Strong computer experience, which must include abilities to work effectively with MS Office suite products, i.e. Word, Excel, Power-Point and Google Suite (Google drive, docs, sheets, forms) and Canvas Learning Management System.

In compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the annual base salary range for this position is $125,000-$165,000. Endicott College considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work experience, education, specialized skills, internal equity, and external market data when extending an offer. The final salary is determined by the Human Resources Office based on these factors. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or other compensation.
