Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for an administrative faculty position as a tenured Professor and Associate Dean of Research and Academics of the Robert S. Geer Family College of the Arts with a preferred start date of January 2027. This is a twelve-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
ResponsibilitiesResearch, Scholarship & Graduate Education- Provide strategic leadership for faculty research and scholarly/creative activity and promote research development, recognition, and dissemination. Coordinate college research initiatives, advisory structures, and annual priorities in collaboration with the Office of Research.
Support graduate academic initiatives, including program development and graduate assistantship coordination.
Curriculum, Accreditation & Academic Performance- Provide dean-level academic review of undergraduate and graduate curriculum proposals, revisions, and implementation across units. Lead college-level accreditation, assessment of learning, and academic effectiveness processes.
Oversee academic components of undergraduate research, digital learning, global education, and other strategic initiatives.
Academic Leadership & GovernanceProvide leadership for college-wide academic planning, governance, and policy development.
Coordinate review and implementation of academic policies, bylaws, and governance processes in alignment with university and system requirements. Represent the College in university-level academic and governance meetings.
Service to the Robert S. Geer Family College of the Arts and the University. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications - Terminal degree, or foreign equivalent, with an academic background and appropriate credentials to be a tenured Professor in an academic department/school in the Robert S. Geer Family College of the Arts at KSU.
- A distinguished record of nationally and internationally recognized research, encompassing scholarship and/or creative activity, that reflects excellence in the applicant's discipline and supports the mission and research development of the Robert S. Geer Family College of the Arts.
- A minimum of 3 years demonstrated success advancing faculty research, scholarship, and/or creative activity across diverse disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications - Evidence of progressive leadership experience at the department, college, or university level.
- Record of securing external funding, grants, fellowships, or partnerships supporting research and creative work.
- Proven ability to collaborate across units and build effective relationships with faculty, staff, and administrative partners.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a track record of moving complex initiatives from concept to implementation.
