Full Job Description
The West Palm, Florida office of Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) is growing and is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team, work alongside experienced litigators, contribute to case strategy and development, and build strong relationships with firm clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle all aspects of medical malpractice/long term care defense cases
  • Locate and identify medical experts in various specialties to review and opine on matters
  • Attend court hearings, conduct depositions, facilitate trial preparation, and provide superior client representation
  • Consult and counsel with clients, effectively communicating on cases, providing consistent updates and comprehensive legal advice
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, prepare legal documents, and prepare and respond to discovery

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in civil defense litigation, specifically focused on medical malpractice and/or long-term care, preferably with administrative law experience
  • Juris Doctor degree and active membership in good standing in the Florida Bar
  • Proficiency in drafting and filing Motions and legal documentation
  • Experience in Court legal procedures and participating in hearings
  • Ability to conduct depositions, prepare witnesses or examining parties for testimony, and conduct pre-suit investigation interviews with medical staff, employees, etc.
  • Strong legal research, legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to develop and execute defense litigation strategies, exercise sound judgment, and effectively manage case responsibilities
