Description

Brock & Scott, PLLC is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our Connecticut team. This hybrid position is primarily focused on legal document review, analysis, and quality oversight, while also providing opportunities to support litigation matters and make court appearances as needed.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional legal research and writing skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload. This role requires an attorney who can independently assess and triage matters, identify potential legal or procedural issues, and ensure documents are accurate, complete, and prepared in accordance with applicable requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive review and analysis of legal documents, pleadings, filings, and case materials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Identify and resolve legal, procedural, or documentation issues requiring attorney review
  • Conduct legal research and provide clear, well-supported written analysis and recommendations
  • Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Triage incoming matters and effectively prioritize assignments based on deadlines, complexity, and business needs
  • Support litigation matters throughout the case lifecycle
  • Attend court hearings and make appearances as required
  • Monitor court deadlines, pleadings, filings, and other case-related requirements
  • Collaborate with attorneys, operational teams, clients, courts, and other stakeholders to ensure matters progress efficiently
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, responsiveness, and professional judgment across assigned matters


Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of pleadings, court filings, and litigation procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage and prioritize a high-volume workload
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify legal and procedural issues
  • Ability to exercise sound legal judgment and escalate matters appropriately
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment


Work Environment:
  • This position will begin on-site to allow for comprehensive training, integration with the team, and familiarity with the Firm's processes and procedures. Upon successful completion of the training period, the role will transition to a hybrid work arrangement.
  • While the primary focus of the position is legal document review and analysis, the Associate Attorney will also support litigation matters and must maintain flexibility to attend court proceedings and work on-site as business and case needs require.


Compensation Details: $95k-120k per year

The compensation amount is not guaranteed. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate. This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position, however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications.

Benefits Details: Brock & Scott, PLLC offers an attractive benefit package to full-time employees on the 1st of the following month of hire. The insurance portion includes medical, dental, voluntary life, voluntary vision, and critical illness, all at competitive rates. At the 90-day introductory period, the Firm also provides a basic life insurance policy in the amount of one time your annual salary (with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $200,000.00) at no cost.

Full-time attorneys receive paid holidays, including six (6) firm-recognized holidays and one (1) Day of Observance, as well as a premium PTO package of 18 days per year. PTO accrues monthly and is credited on the 15th of each month, in accordance with firm policy. PTO benefits increase after 5 years of employment. After six months of service, employees over the age of 21 become eligible to participate in the firm's 401(k) plan at the beginning of the next quarter.

Geographic Eligibility Requirement: To be considered for this position, applicants must currently reside within Brock & Scott, PLLC's geographic footprint. Eligible states include: AL, CT, FL, GA, IN, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, and WV.
