This is a unique opportunity for an actuarial professional who excels at forecasting Medicare medical expense trends and uncovering the drivers behind changing health care costs. In this role, you'll leverage advanced analytics to evaluate utilization patterns, emerging technologies, provider dynamics, regulatory changes, and population health trends that influence future medical spending. Working closely with actuarial, clinical, and business partners, you'll develop actionable forecasts and insights that support pricing, financial planning, and strategic decision-making. Your work will directly shape how the organization anticipates and responds to the evolving Medicare landscape.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:- Develop, conduct, and evaluate studies to understand drivers behind changing health care costs and the impact they'll have on future medical spending
- Develop and mentor actuarial talent through effective delegation, technical coaching, peer review, cross-training, and supporting development opportunities
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and develop business questions for analytic investigation (e.g., utilization analysis)
- Support collaboration across Actuarial, FP&A, Healthcare Economics, Pricing, and Reserving teams, as well as cross LOB collaboration with Medicaid and Commercial actuarial forecast teams
- Lead meetings across various financial, clinical, and actuarial teams to validate and develop modeling assumptions
- Design and run complex data programs, by utilizing applicable data/analytical tools to extract and analyze data (e.g., SAS, SQL, Excel, Snowflake)
- Interpret, compile, and disseminate results of modeling analyses with appropriate conclusions and recommendations

Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree obtained from an accredited university
- ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) designation
- 5+ years of experience in actuarial science, data science, predictive analytics, or related quantitative discipline
- Experience working with Medical and/or Pharmacy claims data
- Advanced or higher level of proficiency with MS Excel
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience leading and developing others including coaching, delegation, project leadership, or mentorship
- Experience collaborating with cross functional partners and presenting analytical findings
- Experience in Healthcare, Finance, or related industry
- Experience working with Medicare
- Experience with forecasting
- Experience designing and running complex data programs, (e.g., extract and analyze data via SAS, SQL, Excel, Snowflake)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
