Full Job Description

Who we are looking for

Global Liquidity Management (GLM) is part of the Global Treasury within the Finance organization and is responsible for managing the firm’s liquidity risk. A primary focus of GLM is to analyze, measure, and manage the firm’s liquidity position and risk profile to ensure that State Street and its international entities can meet all contractual and contingent financial obligations through normal market cycles as well as periods of stress. Through meaningful, timely, transparent, multidimensional and globally harmonized measures, GLM provides key stakeholders with the insight needed to understand the firm’s liquidity position, associated risks, and the factors that influence liquidity.

As part of GLM, the Assistant Vice President of Collateral and Intraday Liquidity Management will be responsible for analyzing, reporting, and proactively optimizing the firm’s collateral inventory and intraday liquidity usage. This role works closely with all aspects of the Liquidity Management and Portfolio Trading teams to provide critical insights and support collateral mobilization and substitution actions.

What you will be responsible for

As an Assistant Vice President of Collateral and Intraday Liquidity Management, you will:

  • Analyze and optimize intraday liquidity usage across key Financial Market Utilities (FMUs), delivering insights that enhance management’s understanding of the firm’s payment, settlement, and clearing activities, support strategic business decisions, improve liquidity efficiency, and ensure adherence to internal risk appetite metrics

  • Design and enhance collateral optimization frameworks across international legal entities, business units, and settlement venues, ensuring sufficient collateral is available to support credit capacity, settlement activity, and liquidity objectives

  • Utilize coding skills (e.g., Python, SQL, or similar tools) to automate repetitive tasks, enhance data analysis, and improve reporting efficiency

  • Support portfolio management strategies by identifying collateral and funding optimization opportunities that improve the firm’s ability to meet intraday liquidity demands, support business growth, and maximize collateral value while aligning with Net Interest Income (NII) objectives

  • Identify, enhance, and test collateral monetization capabilities in partnership with the Global Treasury trading desk and Liquidity Analytics teams

What we value

The following skills will help you succeed in this role:

  • Sound knowledge of liquidity risk management, intraday liquidity concepts, and US liquidity regulations, with exposure to international liquidity markets and collateral facilities an advantage

  • Practical experience of coding large, complex datasets and developing analytical solutions using tools such as Python

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely to senior management and governance forums

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, maintain strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines in a demanding environment

  • Experience in preparing presentations and analyses for executive management and regulators

  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering with business leaders, risk functions, and Corporate Audit

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Treasury, collateral management, middle office operations, relevant consulting, or related field

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline

  • CFA or progress toward CFA designation is a strong advantage
