Who we are looking for
Global Liquidity Management (GLM) is part of the Global Treasury within the Finance organization and is responsible for managing the firm’s liquidity risk. A primary focus of GLM is to analyze, measure, and manage the firm’s liquidity position and risk profile to ensure that State Street and its international entities can meet all contractual and contingent financial obligations through normal market cycles as well as periods of stress. Through meaningful, timely, transparent, multidimensional and globally harmonized measures, GLM provides key stakeholders with the insight needed to understand the firm’s liquidity position, associated risks, and the factors that influence liquidity.
As part of GLM, the Assistant Vice President of Collateral and Intraday Liquidity Management will be responsible for analyzing, reporting, and proactively optimizing the firm’s collateral inventory and intraday liquidity usage. This role works closely with all aspects of the Liquidity Management and Portfolio Trading teams to provide critical insights and support collateral mobilization and substitution actions.
What you will be responsible for
As an Assistant Vice President of Collateral and Intraday Liquidity Management, you will:
Analyze and optimize intraday liquidity usage across key Financial Market Utilities (FMUs), delivering insights that enhance management’s understanding of the firm’s payment, settlement, and clearing activities, support strategic business decisions, improve liquidity efficiency, and ensure adherence to internal risk appetite metrics
Design and enhance collateral optimization frameworks across international legal entities, business units, and settlement venues, ensuring sufficient collateral is available to support credit capacity, settlement activity, and liquidity objectives
Utilize coding skills (e.g., Python, SQL, or similar tools) to automate repetitive tasks, enhance data analysis, and improve reporting efficiency
Support portfolio management strategies by identifying collateral and funding optimization opportunities that improve the firm’s ability to meet intraday liquidity demands, support business growth, and maximize collateral value while aligning with Net Interest Income (NII) objectives
Identify, enhance, and test collateral monetization capabilities in partnership with the Global Treasury trading desk and Liquidity Analytics teams
What we value
The following skills will help you succeed in this role:
Sound knowledge of liquidity risk management, intraday liquidity concepts, and US liquidity regulations, with exposure to international liquidity markets and collateral facilities an advantage
Practical experience of coding large, complex datasets and developing analytical solutions using tools such as Python
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely to senior management and governance forums
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, maintain strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines in a demanding environment
Experience in preparing presentations and analyses for executive management and regulators
Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering with business leaders, risk functions, and Corporate Audit
Education & Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Treasury, collateral management, middle office operations, relevant consulting, or related field
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
CFA or progress toward CFA designation is a strong advantage
Salary Range:
$80,000 - $140,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
