Position SummaryThe Assistant Vice President, Chief of Staff/Project Manager serves as the centralized coordination leader/project manager for internal operations and activities for the State Government Relations (SGR) Division, including coordinating and managing SGR special projects, reports, issue trackers and member-facing updates.
Principal Responsibilities- Assists in coordinating SGR legislative and regulatory activity across all states.
- Coordinates internal SGR workflows, calendars and deliverables.
- Manages special SGR projects, issue trackers, reports and member-facing updates.
- Contributes to and supports strategic planning and cross-state issue alignment.
- Works with the Public Affairs Division to leads strategic communications initiatives on behalf of SGR.
- Works collaboratively with SGR team members, other APCIA staff, and member companies, as appropriate, to complete special projects/reports and coordinate SGR legislative and regulatory activities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provides prompt member response/service with respect to assigned special projects and other tasks, as appropriate.

QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in political science, business administration, communications or related field.
Experience: Minimum of three years' experience in legislative, regulatory, or government relations matters. Knowledge of the insurance industry preferred.
- Strong familiarity with legislative processes.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to oversee projects, reports and communications.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently with strong initiative and follow-through.
