QualificationsThe District is seeking an experienced, creative innovative professional with exceptional leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. Successful candidates must be fully knowledgeable of current personnel policies and procedures with evidence of personnel administration/Human Resource training. Representative Duties - Directs, administers and supervises the personnel work of the district and delegates duties and assignments as may be appropriate.
- Attends meetings of the Board of Education and Administrative Cabinet.
- Represents the Board as chief spokes-person in collective bargaining and in all matters of employer-employee relations.
- Receive, investigate and seek to resolve complaints alleging unlawful discrimination or failure to comply with state or federal laws and regulations governing educational programs.
- Directs and supervises the programs of recruitment, affirmative action, selection and assignment of certificated and classified personnel.
- Recommends salary schedules and provisions, and supervises the setting of salaries according to salary schedule provisions.
- Administers employee requests for transfers, leaves of absence, promotions, sick leaves, grievances and terminations or retirements from service.
- Supervises the proper credentialing of certificated personnel.
- Develops and recommends personnel policies when needed.
- Enforces Board policies, rules and regulations as they relate to personnel.
- Executes decisions of the Superintendent and Board.
- Performs other related responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Organizes professional development for certificated management.
Education and Other Requirements - A minimum of five successful years as a secondary principal.
- Masters Degree
- Administrative Services Credential
- In-depth understanding of California laws, regulations and procedures governing education.
- Strong leadership background in classroom teaching and administration, including experience in personnel management and employer-employee relations.
