GTA, ONSUMMARYReporting to the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will support active major heavy civil MTO project. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for actively managing multiple duties, taking part in both day-to-day operations and long-term project planning.
PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE- Assist the Superintendent in managing work on-site to ensure the compliance of construction with the drawings and specifications
- Support the Superintendent in planning and implementing schedules, determining manpower levels, material quantities, inspections, equipment, and requirements are maintained
- Monitor work performance to ensure project rules, procedures, and safety requirements are being followed
- Advise the Superintendent and Project Manager(s) of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties and assist in resolving these problems
- Maintain and analyze up-to-date cost reports and submit necessary changes to ensure the project is delivered within budget
- Meet with Owners, Consultants, and Architects in a professional manner and have the ability to communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company
- Monitor project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety and quality control
- Interface with project team, subcontractors and related third parties
- Monitor and inspect project site to maintain a safe work environment and provides leadership to ensure policies, procedures and standards are followed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS- 4+ years of progressive experience delivering construction projects in Ontario.
- Proven experience on MTO and municipal projects.
- An EIT or CET designation is preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading high-volume, self-performed operations.
- Strong safety leadership and practical financial acumen.
- Comfortable working in a non-union environment alongside unionized trades.
- Clear communicator with the ability to earn trust from crews, clients, and inspectors.
- AFP / P3 or Design-Build experience is an asset.
WHAT WE OFFER- Expected Base Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
