Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager of Service & Special Projects supports the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This role assists with project scheduling, resource allocation, project administration, and quality control while helping ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established standards.
What You'll Do
Project Planning & Coordination
- Assist in developing project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Support the identification and allocation of labor, materials, and other resources necessary for successful project execution.
- Help assign tasks, communicate expectations, and support project teams in achieving key milestones.
- Monitor project risks, address issues promptly, and assist in implementing solutions to minimize project disruptions.
Quality Control & Project Execution
- Implement and support quality control processes to ensure projects meet established standards.
- Monitor construction activities to track progress and identify potential issues.
- Participate in regular project status meetings to review performance and maintain alignment with project objectives.
- Help ensure construction activities remain on schedule and support timely project delivery.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to maintain complete and accurate project documentation.
Client Relations & Team Collaboration
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Assist in addressing client concerns and delivering a high level of customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote collaboration among project participants to support successful project outcomes.
- Support and reinforce the IME culture of safety across all project activities.
Industry Representation
- Serve as a company ambassador by promoting organizational values and expertise within the electrical contracting industry.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Bring
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong ability to perform due diligence and conduct project risk assessments.
- Knowledge of building construction methods, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Ability to influence, collaborate, and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, ethics, and professional conduct.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to construction project sites.
Demonstrated Accomplishments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, BlueBeam, and Accubid.
- Proven ability to support the successful completion of projects while meeting schedule and budget objectives.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction within large-scale commercial environments.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers while staying informed of industry trends.
- Thorough knowledge and application of electrical construction safety standards.
- Ability to contribute effectively to project coordination, quality management, and team success.
Education & Experience
- Experience supporting or managing industrial and/or commercial electrical construction projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, skills, and training preferred.
- Experience in aviation project management preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of relevant education, training, and applied experience will be considered.
What You'll Get
Working Conditions:
The majority of the time you will work on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Salary Range: $80,750 - $$109,250
*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
