Responsibilities

  • Oversee bid packages for sub-contractor involvement and correctness
  • Negotiate sub-contractor changes
  • Plan and staff key field positions through regional department heads
  • Negotiate contracts with Clients/Owners and resolve disputes
  • Maintain a procurement log and monitor progress of long lead items
  • Review subcontractor PCOs and prepare change order requests to the Owner
  • Initiate liaison with prime clients and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities
  • Monitor and control construction to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget
  • Represent the company in project meetings and assist in labor negotiations
  • Manage the financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interests while maintaining client relationships
  • Monitor jobsite safety and address deficiencies
  • Assist in preparing progress payments and obtaining approvals
  • Develop cash flow projections with the Project Controller

The salary range for this position is $83,000 to $120,000 depending on experience

WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - JOC to join our Mount Vernon, NYoffice.

DESCRIPTION:

As an Assistant Project Manager - JOC at WDF Inc., you will have the opportunity to:

  • Oversees bid packages for sub-contractor involvement andcorrectness

  • Negotiates sub-contractorchanges

  • Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads

  • Negotiates contract with Client/Owner, maintains positive relationships and resolvesdisputes

  • Demonstratescompleteunderstandingandawarenessofthecontract

  • Oversee procurement log and monitor progress of long lead items

  • Review subcontractor PCO9s and prepare change order requests to Owner

  • Review RFI and submittal logs with Project Engineers

  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities

  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget

  • Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings

  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company9s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client

  • Monitors jobsite safety and takes appropriate action to address and correctdeficiencies

  • Assists in preparing the progress payment and obtainingapproval

  • Develops cash flow projection with Project Controller and submits to Home Office and Owner (ifrequired)

  • Approves Time and Materialrates

  • May perform other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor9s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) or more years of commercial construction experience on projects exceeding $50 million; experience with Job Order Contracting (JOC) is preferred

  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities

  • Scheduling knowledge of Primavera P-6 and Procore experience is preferred

  • Knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule

  • Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as Building Information Models (BIM)

  • Advanced skill level with MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/Publisher). Intermediate knowledge of Prolog software

  • Knowledge of CAD 2000 or CAD 3-D isdesired

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Excellent written and verbal skills
