Advertised Job Summary

The School of Accounting in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina located in Columbia, South Carolina is seeking a high-potential faculty member who aspires to excellence in research and teaching for a tenure track Assistant Professor position beginning August 16, 2026. Teaching loads and summer support are competitive with other top-level accounting positions. All faculty searches are subject to the availability of funding.

Required Education and Experience
  • This position requires the candidate to possess a PhD in Accounting by the start date of employment (August 16, 2026).
  • Our tenure-track faculty are expected to produce impactful research targeting top-tier accounting journals and to demonstrate excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching.
  • Examples of additional responsibilities include service to the School of Accounting, the Darla Moore School of Business, the university, and the profession, such as journal reviewing/editing, academic community engagement, student mentoring, committee membership, and interfacing with the business community.
  • New graduates and candidates with up to three years of academic teaching experience will be considered.
