Job Description
Position Summary:

The Department of Statistics at Colorado State University (CSU) invites applications for at least one Tenure-track Assistant Professor position. We welcome applicants working in a broad range of areas of Statistics. Candidates should have an established research program, a compelling plan for future research, the ability to supervise both graduate and undergraduate research, and an ability to achieve excellence in teaching. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.

Work authorization visa sponsorship may be available based on the specific situation, including cost, for the selected final candidate.

Department of Statistics:

The department currently comprises 18 faculty and roughly 100 graduate students in our MS, MAS, and PhD graduate programs, and has a network of faculty affiliates at nearby research agencies (National Center for Atmospheric Research, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among others). Our faculty members have a wide range of expertise and are involved in various interdisciplinary graduate training and research activities. Internal and external consulting activities of the department are supported through the Graybill Statistics and Data Science Laboratory. Essential Job Duties:
  • Teach statistics courses at all levels.
  • Advise MS and PhD students.
  • Perform world class research in statistics. Write and publish papers, obtain grant funding.
  • Perform service to the department. Serve on committees. Contribute to departmental initiatives such as curriculum development.
  • Other related duties.

Supervision:

This position does not have any direct reports.

Conditions of Employment:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Statistics or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Record of research accomplishments in statistics, data science, or probability.
  • Ability to contribute in the areas of teaching and mentoring.
  • An impactful future research agenda.
