Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Role purpose:

As an assistant planner, not only do you manage the vast activity of current stock, but you also predict what we will need well into the future. It requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail and an organised work ethic. As an integral part of the Merchant Team the Assistant Planner will support sell through and conversion of inventory ensuring that the right product is in the best possible place for it to sell.

This position is a permanent role and gives someone the opportunity to join us on an amazing journey of evolving Watchfinder, in a function which is still relatively new to the business. We welcome new talent to help us achieve our goals while always challenging the status quo.

Key responsibilities:

Help to maintain our required sell through and velocity of stock by ensuring it's always in the best possible place to convert via the following means:

Purchasing & Planning:
  • Supporting the Purchasing Manager with product sourcing and placement strategy, including Watchfinder, consignment, and marketplace channels, focusing on margin and stock management
  • Work with HQ pricing team on opportunities to drive conversion through OR changes and re quotes
  • Monitor in real time the execution of the purchasing plan and liaise with US Purchasing Managers to ensure we are delivering what was intended
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Finance to produce analysis of stock holding and purchasing process for regional model stocks
  • Support HQ in local "purchase to publish" lifecycle reporting and bring together stakeholders to monitor progress vs plan and identify problem areas or bottlenecks


Merchandising & Pricing:
  • Manage weekly retail store replenishment (minimum 75 units) and ad-hoc requests
  • Conduct store visits (1 per week) for visual merchandising and marketing displays tailored to customer profile
  • Analysis on walk-ins and appointments, balancing new and existing customers
  • Online & store performance analysis
  • Execute US-specific campaigns, identify stock opportunities, and think creatively
  • Using data to optimise the sales volume and profitability of all product areas
  • Analyse stock performance per category/price/country and liaise closely with Pricing to adjust speed up or slow down velocity
  • Report on trends and product performance weekly and find ways to optimise commercial activities, working closely alongside the Country Managers to gain valuable local insight


Qualifications/Profile: We'd love to meet someone with:
  • A track record of creating positive impact on business through merchandising, ideally gained in a multi-brand retailer
  • Organised with a true understanding of the importance of detail and accuracy of information
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and understand significance of actions
  • Ability to work independently, with a positive "can do" attitude
  • Numerate, accurate with sound analytical skills, you will have ninja level Excel skills.
  • Ability to present information and ideas clearly to your wider team and commercial leaders.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and cross functionally (Essential)
  • Self-motivated (Essential)
  • The Confidence to deal with/present to colleagues at all levels of the business
  • Good judgement and decision-making skills
  • Confidence in suggesting calculated risks
  • Multi-region / market exposure and experience
  • Understanding of KPIs that achieve success within an online retail organisation
