ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

Location: Hawthorne, NY (On-site)
Job Type: Full-time
Annual Salary: $125,000 - $150,000

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the delivery of person centered residential and related services to ensure the rights, health, safety and personal outcomes of the people living in homes overseen by Residential Services are supported at all times.
  • In collaboration with the AED of Day Services and Director of Nursing establish performance standard and effective coordination of health and wellness services, day services programs based in and out of the organization for the people supported by Residential Services.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development for Direct Support Professionals at an organizational, state-wide and national level.
  • Work effectively with people supported, families, colleagues, supervisors, board members and committees and individuals and groups in the community and from government organizations.
  • Lead a culture of ongoing professional development for entire Residential Services and ensure all staff fulfill all training requirements.
  • Ensure that services are provided and documented as per regulations and agency policy and that waiver billing requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD and federal regulations and agency policies.
  • Oversee residential staff hiring, as well as disciplinary and evaluation procedures.
  • Be on call for emergency situations 24 hours, 7 days a week as per residential Department Emergency Contact System.
  • Attend and participate professionally in supervision meetings, training sessions, conferences, retreats, task forces and committees.
  • Conduct regular and routine site visits to all residential locations and provide observations and feedback to management on condition/atmosphere of the homes.


Requirements

  • The ideal candidate is required to have a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related Human Services field.
  • At least five (5) years' experience in residential service operations including oversight of critical operating budget, and in a significant leadership/management role.
  • Significant knowledge of relevant regulations, public policy, strategic planning and personnel management.
  • Understanding of funding streams and billing requirements and fiscal management skills.
  • Significant knowledge of the OPWDD system.
  • Significant knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities and the delivery of person- centered, habilitation and health care services to individuals of varying ages.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to actively supervise, mentor and train staff.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, delegate and complete multiple assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and their families, as well as with other individuals and organizations in the community.
  • Ability to coordinate, lead and motivate project teams across the department.
  • Ability to do strategic planning and accomplish strategic priorities.
  • Understanding of funding streams and billing requirements and fiscal management skills.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively.
