Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Engagement and Strategy, the Assistant Director of Fundraising Events is responsible for planning and executing a portfolio of high-impact fundraising, stewardship, alumni, parent, and donor engagement events that advance the University's strategic priorities and strengthen relationships with constituents.
Position Responsibilities:
Event Strategy and Execution- Lead the planning and execution of small-scale fundraising events such as Departmental fundraising events, dedication ceremonies, parlor meetings, alumni and parent engagement events, President's Society events, commencement activities for donors, and donor stewardship events.
- Manage project timelines, run-of-show documents, venue walkthroughs, vendor coordination, staffing plans, deliveries, and onsite event management.
- Independently manage events of varying sizes and complexity.
Donor Experience and Stewardship- Deliver exceptional service and hospitality to donors, alumni, parents, and University leadership.
- Develop solutions that maximize donor satisfaction and financial impact.
- Manage RSVPs, seating charts, table assignments, tribute listings
Vendor and Budget Management- Assist with event design and vendor selection.
- Maintain relationships with event production companies, audio-visual teams, caterers, rental vendors, printers, and photographers.
- Track vendor deliverables and support budget management and reconciliation.
Collaboration and Project Management- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Institutional Advancement and the University.
- Partner with Advancement colleagues and external vendors to ensure successful execution.
- Work in partnership with IA colleagues on post-event financial analysis and reconciliation
- Serve as a key resource for IA department event planning and logistics.
Experience & Educational Background:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 5+ Years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated success planning and executing high-impact fundraising and donor engagement events.

- Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively.
- Professionalism, discretion, and understanding of donor relations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm in fast-paced environments.

- Some evening and Sunday work is required based on event schedules.
Occasional travel may be required for off-campus events.
Salary Range:
$90,000 - $110,000
