Duties & Responsibilities

The Budget and Financial Analyst works under the general supervision of the Assistant Controller, provides guidance to the PAC department personnel and is responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of the Post-Acute Care (PAC) business unit. The Budget and Financial Analyst will assist with the design and document workflow, forecasting, accounting and will make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness. The Budget and Financial Analyst will develop and maintain processes to track and analyze productivity and workload trends.

The Budget and Financial Analyst will provide exemplary stewardship through the establishment, monitoring and improvement of the accounting, finance and administrative systems programs and procedures.
  • Utilize data to provide analysis and research related to the provision, payment and reporting of health care services.
  • Collaborate with various internal department managers to develop, create, and consolidate the service line's annual budget.
  • Vet funding requests, proposals, and expenditures for accuracy, compliance with regulations, and financial viability
  • Monitor organizational spending to ensure compliance with the approved budget, providing reports on variances.
  • Estimate future financial needs and analyze potential impact of financial decisions.
  • Produce comprehensive reports, present data, and offer financial recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain accounting controls and proper records.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules for the assigned accounts.
  • Review bank reconciliations and timely resolve unreconciled items.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger activities for assigned facility.
  • Investigate and resolve issues through communications with operations, finance teams and other parties
  • Monitor and review capital projects and other asset expenses; ensure proper accounting.
  • Monitor and review the local and centralized lease / rental expenses for all five facilities.
  • Ensure the proper capturing of expense requisitioning in the appropriate General Ledger account.
  • Participate in various audits and coordinate the collection of requested documentation
  • Travel within the five (5) PAC sites as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline with an emphasis on accounting and financial systems; and two (2) years of responsible-level experience in fiscal management or administration with an emphasis on financial
systems, management information and controls, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or managerial capacity; or
2.Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1" above; and three(3)years of experience, as described in "1" above, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or managerial capacity.
