Seeking a Assistant Construction Manager to coordinate, manage, and report on construction activities for mission-critical facilities - Shippingport, PA
The Construction Manager is responsible for coordinating, managing, and reporting on construction activities for mission-critical facilities. This individual provides consistent project controls, schedule oversight, financial tracking, and technical coordination across multiple stakeholders. This is a role requiring strong communication, tech-savviness, and reporting skills.
Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field
-5-10 years of commercial/industrial construction or mission critical project experience (Data Center, Semiconductor, Labs, or similar)-critical project experience (Data Center, Semiconductor, Labs, or similar)
-Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
-PMP, CCM, or PE license is a plus
-Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
-Ability to proactively identify issues and drive solutions across multiple stakeholders & teams-functional teams
Tasks and Responsibilities:
-Lead daily on-site construction oversight for civil, structural, architectural, and MEP activities across multiple buildings on a data center campus.
-Review and validate the GC's full construction schedule, including monthly forecasts, CPM updates, and detailed look-ahead plans.
-Participate in and/or lead weekly schedule coordination meetings with the GC, subcontractors, commissioning teams, and direct vendors.
-Manage OFCI equipment lifecycle including scheduling, logistics planning, delivery oversight, inspection, and installation tracking.
-Coordinate commissioning schedules and ensure alignment with construction progress and equipment readiness.
-Manage owner-directed vendor schedules (IT, roofing consultant, geotechnical services, third-party inspectors, etc.).
-Oversee customer fit-out scheduling and ensure alignment between base-build turnover and tenant infrastructure requirements.
-Support GMP buyout review, including scope validation, cost analysis, and recommendations to ownership.
-Review and analyze value-engineering proposals to maintain performance and reliability of mission-critical systems.
-Review and approve change orders, assessing cost impact, scope accuracy, and documentation quality.
-Validate monthly pay applications against work in place, contract values, and schedule progress.
-Provide proactive recommendations for cost avoidance and risk reduction throughout construction.
-Conduct daily site walks, verifying quality, installation accuracy, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
-Coordinate facility operations activities including MOPs, utility shutdowns, notifications, and operational impacts
-Track weekly progress and deliver accurate reporting to owner leadership, including forecasting and risk analysis.
-Manage OFCI equipment receiving, verification, and handoff for installation readiness.
-Lead or support weekly OAC meetings, track action items, and maintain accurate meeting documentation.
-Process and manage project documentation including change orders, pay applications, RFIs, submittals, and logs
-Oversee project closeout including financial reconciliation, punchlist management, O&M turnover, training, and handoff to operations.
-Coordinate post-design construction administration, including design clarifications, updates, and integration of customer fit-out packages.
-Evaluate design changes for cost, schedule, constructability, and operational impact.
-Manage overall permitting efforts, coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), and oversee inspection and certificate-of-occupancy processes.
