Job Description:
The Department of Nursing is undergoing a process of growth and renewal and would like to attract new faculty that will share and contribute to this process through teaching, research and guidance in the area of Medical/Surgical/Critical Care Nursing. They will share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions for the good of the institution.

Responsibilities:
  • Nursing faculty teach in the classroom and conduct clinical teaching.
  • Research and publications are expected for tenure and promotion.
  • Other areas of responsibility include curriculum development; participate in departmental and college-wide activities and committees, such as, grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required. Doctorate in Nursing or other related area.
  • Must have expertise in Medical/Surgical/Critical Care Nursing. Strong preference will be given to candidates with didactic experience in the main area of teaching at the collegiate level.
  • A strong, demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required.
  • Expertise in critical care throughout the lifespan is required.
  • Must hold a current or be eligible for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred.
  • Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department and university levels preferred.
