Posting Summary

The Department seeks applications for two teaching positions at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor available beginning September 2026, subject to the availability of funding, with the possibility of appointment at a higher level for well-qualified candidates. These are renewable positions. The initial contract is normally one year, with renewal contracts typically for multi-year terms. Each position runs during the academic year, with a possibility of teaching during the summer for additional salary.

This position has a teaching load of 4-4 (four undergraduate mathematics courses in each of the fall and spring semesters), with possible teaching reductions for administrative, advising or other departmental duties. Applicants should have received a Ph.D. and show outstanding evidence of teaching at the undergraduate level. Ideally, candidates will have had at least three years teaching experience by the time the position starts.

The academic year salary for an assistant resp. associate resp. full teaching professor will not be less than $82,110 resp. $84,950 resp. $95,764, based on the most recent collective bargaining agreement between the faculty union (AAUP-AFT) and Rutgers University.
