Job Summary

The Assistant Administrator Radiology is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Moses Radiology. Under direction of the Unified Department Administrator and in partnership with the Medical Director, they are responsible for management, business development, and financial management of all services provided by Moses Radiology. They participate in central Radiology councils to provide decision making and technical expertise for the development of supplies, service contracts, and capital purchases. The Assistant Administrator directly manages the hiring, training, quality oversight, safety, and overall technical performance of staff within the department outpatient sites and serves on the departments and organizational committees. They communicate with physicians, physicists, nurses, radiology, administrators, nurse practitioners, patient advocacy representatives and various members of other clinical and administrative departments, as well as the public.

Essential Functions
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Moses campus, including management of site managers, techs, administrative staff, physician assistants, and other support staff.
  • Works with the Director of Finance to oversee financial performance of Moses campus, including development of the budget and personnel expenses.
  • Collaborates closely with QA Management, Imaging Leadership, the Safety Office and other operations managers to ensure consistent, quality care to all patients.
  • Partners with the Radiology Director of Patient Experience to develop and implement a vision for service excellence and patient-centered Radiology; including the measurement of performance and training of staff in patient experience.
  • Accountable for overall management of the technical operations while collaborating with modality Technical Directors.
  • Develop Moses management team, both technical and non-technical, to effectively manage and lead an efficient, high quality, and patient centric atmosphere, using data analytics and lean methodology while increasing frontline staff engagement.
  • In Partnership with the Medical Director of Quality and Safety, Manager of QI/QC, Medical Physicists, and local administrators, ensures compliance with current Joint Commission (JC) and American College of Radiology (ACR) standards.
  • Collaborates with department administration and the Medical Director, OP Imaging on business plan development to introduce and support new clinical programs or technologies, as well as monitoring reports of overall volume, equipment utilization, market share, and other KPIs for Radiology operations at Weiler.
  • Leads and collaborates on specific projects as it relates to operations and process improvement.
  • Ensures that adequate written safety procedures, work instructions, emergency procedures, and operating instructions are issued to all technical staff, along with the site managers, OP Medical Directors, and Division Leads. In addition, the Assistant Administrator must maintain personnel records of required safety training and competency reviews for the clinic management staff.
  • Works closely with the Medical Director, OP Imaging to identify present and future needs for renovations and equipment needs to Radiology Leadership.
  • Works closely with the Radiology Informatics Team to identifying present and future needs for innovative IT solutions.
  • Ensures all clinical licenses and ARRT documentation are maintained and that the Department meets the guidelines for ACR, NYS DOH and Joint Commission.
  • Develops a collaborative relationship with key stakeholders, including other departments and physicians to obtain feedback, support, and promote the department's operational and strategic goals, and maintain the highest standards of quality care, patient safety, and customer service.
  • Collaborates with HR and Labor Relations to navigate union employee matters


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Health Science or Healthcare Administration required; Master's degree preferred
  • 4-6 years supervisory experience in an inpatient imaging service required
  • NYS License in Radiologic Technology Required
  • ARRT certification required
  • Experience working with/leading a Union workforce
  • Fit Test and Annual Assessment- OHS
