Overview

Working alongside our commercial spaceflight partners, our team is positioned to contribute to the future of space exploration. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a role in various commercial space endeavors with our partners that include NASA, Intuitive Machines, Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, and others.

Responsibilities

TheAssembly, Integration, and Test Engineerwill:

  • Lead planning, assembly, and integration of spacecraft structures, subsystems, payloads, and flight hardware in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Integrate electrical, mechanical, thermal, and software elements into complete spacecraft systems.
  • Develop, review, approve, and execute spacecraft integration and test procedures.
  • Lead functional, performance, and end-to-end verification testing of spacecraft hardware and software.
  • Operate and maintain Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE), test racks, simulators, and laboratory instrumentation.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and integration anomalies encountered during assembly and testing activities.
  • Perform root-cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited engineering school, plus ten (10) years of related engineering experience
  • Extensive experience with spacecraft assembly, integration, and test
  • Mechanical design experience including complex assemblies and engineering drawings, and hardware production
  • Applied experience using CAD modeling software (Creo, NX, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Applied experience with engineering drawings created to ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
  • Experience developing and executing spacecraft environmental testing and launch campaign operations
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as ECSS, AS9100, NASA, or customer-specific requirements
  • Experience developing automated test scripts and test software
  • Experience leading technical reviews and cross-functional team integration
  • Knowledge of configuration management and systems engineering processes

Preferences:

  • Working experience with spaceflight programs
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with requirement development, decomposition, documentation, and review
  • Project management or other leadership experience
  • Experience developing technical documentation
  • Working experience with Windchill
  • Working experience with product lifecycle management software
  • Master of Science degree in Engineering

Essential Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Work may involve sitting for extended periods.
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
  • Generally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
  • Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
