Army Vantage is a data-driven command and control platform built on Palantir Foundry specifically for the U.S. Army. It connects over 30,000 datasets across hundreds of disconnected legacy systems into a single operational window. By applying AI analytics to this data foundation, Vantage helps Army commanders make rapid, real-time decisions on combat readiness, supply chain logistics, finance, and personnel management. The Army Vantage Developer's role is to build and maintain data pipelines, analytics and AI models, and low-code operational applications on this platform in support of the Army Human Resource Command.
What You'll Do- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines in Palantir Foundry, including ingestion, transformation, and validation of data from multiple Army source systems and legacy platforms.
- Develop analytics and AI/ML models and ontology objects that give users a consistent, trusted view of operational data.
- Operationalize AI by embedding models into low-code applications (e.g., Workshop, Slate) and AI-enabled workflows (e.g., Palantir AIP) that deliver real-time insights on readiness, logistics, finance, and personnel.
- Write and optimize transforms using PySpark, Python, and SQL, including feature engineering and data preparation for model training.
- Gather requirements from Army commanders and staff and translate them into technical and AI-driven solutions.
- Monitor pipeline and model health, troubleshoot failures, and track model performance, accuracy, and drift.
- Apply data governance, security, access-control, and responsible AI standards in line with Army and DoD policy.
- Utilize Agile Framework to manage tasks and document solutions for the Vantage developer community.
What You BringRequired:
- 5+ years in data engineering, software development, or analytics, including building ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with PySpark or similar distributed data processing.
- Experience applying AI/ML (e.g., predictive modeling, forecasting, NLP, or LLM-enabled workflows) to operational data and putting models into production.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA Security+.
- Active Secret Clearance.
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry (Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, Ontology Manager, Workshop, Slate) and/or AIP.
- Army, DoD, or federal data environment experience.
