What You'll Do The Area Vice President (AVP) is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding strategic customer relationships, and leading a high-performing sales organization across Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Public Sector accounts. Reporting to the Unit Leader, this leadership role is accountable for territory performance, business planning, talent development, and execution of Teradata's AI and analytics growth strategy.
The AVP will lead a customer-facing organization focused on helping enterprises unlock business value through AI, advanced analytics, and modern data platforms. This individual will work closely with executive stakeholders, industry leaders, and cross-functional teams to establish Teradata as the trusted partner for AI-driven business outcomes and enterprise transformation.
A key focus of this role is accelerating AI-led growth across the territory by identifying new opportunities, expanding into new business units and stakeholder groups, and helping customers realize measurable value from their data and analytics investments. The AVP serves as an executive sponsor for strategic accounts, fostering senior-level relationships that support long-term customer success, account expansion, and revenue growth.

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Lead a team of Account Executives and aligned resources to achieve revenue, growth, and profitability objectives across the territory.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans focused on AI, analytics, and data-driven transformation initiatives.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships across key healthcare, life sciences, and public sector organizations.
- Position Teradata as a strategic partner capable of delivering measurable business outcomes through AI, agentic analytics, and modern data architectures.
- Develop compelling executive narratives that connect customer business priorities with Teradata's platform capabilities and differentiators.
- Coach and develop sales leaders and account teams on executive engagement, solution-led selling, territory planning, and strategic deal execution.
- Drive forecasting accuracy, pipeline health, resource allocation, and territory optimization to maximize business results.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Professional Services, and leadership teams to align customer needs with Teradata's strategy and roadmap.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a high-performance, customer-centric culture.
- Manage business performance through rigorous operational reviews, account planning, and growth initiatives.
Who You'll Work With You will collaborate proactively across Teradata's global Go-To-Market organization, including Account Teams, Sales Specialists, Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Services, and Executive Leadership. You will also partner closely with strategic ecosystem partners, Systems Integrators (SI), Cloud Service Providers (CSP), and Independent Software Vendors (ISV) to accelerate customer success and business growth.
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate - Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of enterprise sales leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
- 5+ years of enterprise account management experience with demonstrated success growing strategic accounts.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and leading organizations that consistently exceed growth objectives.
- Experience developing and executing territory and business growth strategies in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to engage C-suite stakeholders around business strategy, transformation initiatives, and measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated success leading teams through complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and business units.
- Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 60%.
What You'll Bring - Deep understanding of healthcare, life sciences, and/or public sector business priorities and challenges.
- Experience selling or positioning AI, analytics, cloud data platform, or enterprise software solutions.
- Ability to clearly articulate business value, ROI, and transformation outcomes to executive audiences.
- Proven success building relationships across new divisions, business units, and stakeholder groups within large enterprise organizations.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience coaching teams on solution selling and executive engagement.
- Experience driving land, adopt, expand, and renew motions within strategic accounts.
- Understanding of AI, agentic analytics, modern data architectures, and how these technologies help organizations achieve business goals.
- Experience with territory planning, forecasting, business operations, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Background in P&L management and business planning is highly desirable.
This position is working in a virtual office environment, including home office & customer site. A combination of independent work and team collaboration will be required. Travel up to 60% is also expected.

Pay Rate: $310,800.00 - $388,500.00 - $466,200.00 On-Target Earnings
Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on geographic location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and candidate experience. Sales roles will be eligible for commission payments tied to quota achievement. All other permanent roles will be eligible for one of our annual incentive plans, which are based on company financial attainment and individual performance.
