Full Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Provides classroom and/or behind-the-wheel training to new operators or re-training of current operators
Provides training and coaching to location personnel
Tracks attendees and maintains training documentation based on regulations and company policy
Supports safety initiatives including accident investigations, compliance documentation, safety meetings, and ongoing operator development
Trainer Required Experience and Skills:
This role requires approximately 60% travel across approximately 30 locations
Must possess current school bus credentials required to provide school bus driver training, ODE Behind-the-Wheel Trainer certification preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of experience training school bus drivers preferred
1-3 years of transportation, safety, or related experience within the school bus industry
Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding safety and environmental issues
Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while adapting quickly to changing situations
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
Possess a reliable vehicle to travel throughout the service area as needed
Consistent attendance and punctuality
