Architecture / Building Quality Manager (Aviation)Location: Chicago, IL - O'Hare International Airport
Salary: $120,000-$140,000
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement the Architectural Quality Management Plan (QMP) in alignment with CDA and project requirements.
- Ensure all architectural works comply with contract documents, Chicago codes, ADA, and aviation standards.
- Oversee QA/QC for building envelope, interiors, and passenger-facing spaces (curtain wall, roofing, finishes, waterproofing).
- Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, material samples, and method statements.
- Perform field inspections and audits in active airport environments, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and operational constraints.
- Manage NCRs, punch lists, and corrective actions to ensure timely resolution and turnover readiness.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and airport stakeholders to resolve quality and constructability issues.
- Ensure compliance with life safety, fire-rated assemblies, and accessibility requirements.
- Maintain QA/QC documentation and support phased handovers in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Lead QA/QC staff and promote a strong quality culture.
RequirementsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of construction experience, including 5+ years in QA/QC or quality management.
- Experience on large commercial, transportation, or aviation projects (airport terminal experience preferred).
- Experience in phased construction within active facilities strongly preferred.
Technical Skills- Strong knowledge of architectural systems (envelope, finishes, fire-rated assemblies).
- Understanding of ADA, IBC, and life safety requirements in public-use facilities.
- Familiarity with aviation project standards and 24/7 operational constraints.
- Experience with QA/QC platforms (Procore, Aconex) and BIM tools (Revit/Navisworks).
