Job Description: As a Construction Manager - Architectural / Vertical Construction, you will be responsible for managing field construction activities for vertical building construction and architectural scopes, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, within budget, and within the scope of the contract. You will oversee compliance with construction documents, applicable codes, safety standards, quality requirements, and project schedules. You will coordinate contractors, designers, and project stakeholders to resolve field issues, track progress, manage interfaces between trades, and ensure successful project closeout.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project schedules and proactively address potential impacts to vertical construction and architectural activities. Review daily work plans and support monthly schedule updates based on field progress.
  • Manage risks and establish recovery plans when required. Resolve field conflicts and disputes with minimal need for escalation.
  • Review architectural plans, specifications, contract requirements, applicable building codes, and installation details to determine project requirements.
  • Oversee vertical construction and architectural scopes for compliance with specifications, approved submittals, local codes, quality standards, and accepted installation practices.
  • Coordinate building envelope, partitions, ceilings, doors/frames/hardware, finishes, specialties, interiors, and related architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other trades.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, mockups, change documentation, and field conditions; participate in constructability reviews and coordination meetings.
  • Monitor sequencing, access, logistics, quality control, and trade interfaces to support efficient and complete installation.
  • Work with safety personnel to ensure field activities meet project and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Lead or support inspections, punch-list activities, deficiency resolution, owner/architect walkthroughs, and turnover of completed spaces.
  • Ensure timely completion of required project closeout documents, including record documentation, warranties, attic stock, O&M information, and turnover documentation as applicable.
  • During the Construction Phase, proactively manage quality, schedule, budget, safety, and document control while tracking and reporting project performance

Qualifications:

  • Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • 7-10 years of relevant construction management experience with significant vertical building and architectural construction experience.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple trades and managing architectural/finish scopes in the field

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree a plus.
  • Experience with building envelope, interiors, finishes, doors/frames/hardware, ceilings, partitions, and other architectural scopes.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, building codes, quality control, and punch-list/closeout processes.
  • Proven ability to follow through with completion.
  • OSHA 30
