Position Summary
Midwives work as part of a team of professional and medical staff, providing a full range of primary health care services for women from adolescence beyond menopause. Midwives provide initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Certified Nurse Midwives will admit, manage and discharge patients. They can perform diagnostic tests and procedures.

Standard Work: APRN II Midwife- Work closely with obstetricians and gynecologists in diagnosing and treating women with acute and chronic illnesses
- Assume management responsibility of a caseload of obstetrical and gynecological patients
- Provide prenatal care to patients which includes physical assessment, patient education, nursing care and management of problems in accordance with approved nurse midwifery guidelines
- Provide family planning services
- Provide post-partum care, and lactation support

Experience Preferred:
- Previous nurse midwifery experience
- Previous midwife experience
Certifications Essential:
- Certified nurse-midwife (CNM) or certified midwife (CM)
- Current license as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Florida within 12 months of hire
Certifications Preferred:
- Membership in a professional organization
Licenses Essential:
- Licensed as a Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse in Florida
