Job RequirementsDuties and responsibilities- Development of new materials and Products in growth-oriented, fast paced development environment.
- Collaborate with broad range of technical expertise throughout the company
- Improve upon existing materials and products.
- Laboratory testing and evaluation of raw materials and refractory systems to ensure new products meet or exceed target characteristics
- Failure analysis - be a technical resource for material related failures
- Establish and maintain development project timelines and status updates
- Provide technical support and assist with scale up of new materials & processes into manufacturing
- Qualify new and/or alternate raw materials for existing formulations
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives as required
- Technical resource to Sales, Engineering and Operations
- Other duties as assigned
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications include:
- BS in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Chemistry
- Proven track record in fast-paced, innovative development environment
- At least 2 years of experience in related role within a manufacturing company
- Proficient in MS Office applications & virtual meeting environments (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
- Proficient in laboratory testing methods and equipment
- Experienced working in cross-functional and cross-site teams and working as an individual contributor
- A background as a problem-solver
Preferred qualifications include:
- MS in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Chemistry
- Proven track record in fast-paced, innovative development environment
- Demonstrated experience in hard refractories
- Experience in DOE (Design of Experiments)
- Has knowledge in data-driven process control or basic SPC discipline
- Familiarity with data acquisition methods and software
