Application Development Engineer

In this role at Momentive Technologies, you will collaborate across commercial, technology, and operations teams to design cutting-edge Ceramic Coating materials tailored to customer needs. In this customer facing role, youll drive development projects from concept to production, establishing technical constraints, creating application data through targeted testing, and enabling seamless manufacturing integration. In this dynamic role, youll support sales growth by evaluating customer requirements, delivering compelling presentations, establishing customer specific value propositions and identifying emerging market opportunities and targeted customers. Your insights will shape our technical roadmap as you propose forward-thinking improvements to products and processes that elevate performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the commercial, technology, and operations teams to support customer pipeline development activities. Specifically, the engineer will design Ceramics Coatings Solutions in conjunction with the customer to optimize the performance of Momentive Technologies materials in various Semiconductor, Compound Semiconductor and Industrial applications. The engineer will establish design constraints and timeline for development projects.

• Support the commercial team to develop the sales pipeline by reviewing customer requirements, conducting product presentations, establishing customer specific value propositions and evaluating market trends.

• Understand customers testing requirements to develop winning solutions. Collaborate with internal and external resources to generate application data and enable our customers to solve issues in their solutions.

• Facilitate production of newly designed products with the operations team, defining process requirements, training operators, identifying supply chain requirements, and writing necessary documentation.

• Support quoting process by evaluating production feasibility and costs based on capability and defining materials, machine, and operations requirements.

• Help develop technical roadmaps and by suggesting process and product improvements to fit customers needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in material, mechanical, aerospace or chemical engineering
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace, semiconductor material processing, equipment manufacturing, device fabrication or related fields.

• Experience in CAD tools such as Solidworks for modelling and drawing generation and/or Ansys for thermal and structural simulation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record of customer-facing engagements designing customer specific solutions.

• Experience in cross-functional collaboration and international customer/supplier interaction.

• Familiarity with version control systems and product data management such as Solidworks PDM or Creo Windchill.

• Knowledge of engineering materials and engineering drawings.

• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Experience in ANSYS Multiphysics coupling of Thermal/Structural and Fluids modeling

• Basic knowledge of mechanical and dimensional characterization tools including CMM, mechanical and thermal property characterization and non-destructive material testing such as x-ray and/or ultrasound imaging.

• Ability to independently prioritize tasks based on timeline and corporate goals.

• Ability to communicate with customers clearly and independently on development projects.

Our Application Development Engineer will earn a variable compensation including annual base salary and bonus.
