Application Analyst IISetting the StageThe Application Analyst II supports Epic applications that power patient access, scheduling, registration, referrals, and digital scheduling across RWJBarnabas Health. Applications include
Epic Cadence Enterprise Scheduling, Prelude Registration, Referrals, CRM/Call Management, Welcome, and MyChart scheduling integration.
The Application Analyst II supports application design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. Working with moderate supervision, this position partners with Operations, Informatics, training teams, and other application analysts to optimize workflows, troubleshoot issues, and support enhancements and upgrades.
As an Application Analyst II, a typical day may include:- Designing, building, configuring, and supporting Epic Cadence, Prelude, Referrals, CRM/Call Management, Welcome, and scheduling workflows
- Partnering with Operations to optimize patient scheduling, registration, referral, and access workflows
- Reviewing Foundation Build and operationally requested workflows and content
- Building and maintaining application fields, screens, templates, and customer-defined functionality
- Participating in unit, application, and integrated testing for implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
- Developing and executing test scripts and documenting testing outcomes
- Troubleshooting application, workflow, scheduling, registration, and build issues
- Researching issues, recommending solutions, and escalating complex problems when appropriate
- Supporting Epic upgrades, enhancements, implementations, and system modifications
- Providing go-live, post-go-live, and ongoing on-call application support
- Managing application tickets and maintaining clear documentation of resolutions, decisions, risks, and workflow changes
- Serving as a knowledge resource for Application Analyst I team members
This Role Might Be For You If- You have hands-on experience with Epic Cadence, Prelude, and Referrals
- You understand patient access, scheduling, registration, and referral workflows
- You enjoy translating operational needs into effective Epic workflows
- You have experience with Epic application build, configuration, testing, and support
- You can independently research application issues and determine when escalation is needed
- You are comfortable supporting go-lives, upgrades, enhancements, and ongoing application maintenance
- You enjoy collaborating with Operations, Informatics, training teams, and other Epic analysts
To Be Considered for the Application Analyst II position, you must have:- Active Epic Cadence, Prelude, and Referrals certification
- Demonstrated experience supporting Epic applications and related workflows
- Experience with application design, build, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of patient scheduling, registration, referral, and patient access workflows
- Ability to work effectively with moderate supervision
- Experience researching application and build issues and recommending appropriate solutions
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to maintain Epic certification through New Version Training (NVT), as applicable
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- 3+ years of system build experience
- Epic CRM/Call Management experience or certification
- Experience with Epic Welcome and MyChart scheduling integration
- Experience supporting application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and go-lives
- Experience with Epic Foundation Build, integrated testing, change control, and application governance
- Experience working with patient access, scheduling, registration, or referral teams
- Clinical licensure when applicable
