Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions under physician collaboration
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing results
  • Provide patient and family education regarding cardiac disease prevention and management
  • Participate in inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic visits, and follow-up care as assigned
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Experience: 0

Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP), DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure or Physician Assistant ( PA) required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.

Other: Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers, good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
