  • Contribute to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives within the ICU.
  • Provide specialty medical care within the inpatient setting of the ICU.

Full Job Description
The Medical College of Wisconsin's Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, & Sleep Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the Inpatient setting in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This position is located in Menomonee Falls, WI at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who contributes to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.

Position Highlights:
  • Collaborate with pulmonary & critical care faculty in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including members of the teaching service
  • Demonstrate strong clinical competence; critical decision-making; confidence in ability to assess, diagnose, & treat critically ill patients; and manage all aspects of care from admission to transfer from the critical care service
  • Participate in daily rounds with the Attending Intensivist Physician team, presenting 24-hour patient report
  • Join an amazing team who provides exceptional care to our Medical Intensive Care Unit patients


Schedule:
  • 1.0 fte
  • 12-hour rotating day & night shifts with expectations for some weekends & holidays
  • Also requires flexibility w/ hours to provide for an appropriate level of patient care coverage

Qualifications:
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous inpatient, acute care, & critical care PA, NP, or RN experience strongly preferred


Minimum Education:
  • Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.


Minimum Requirements:
Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
  • Wisconsin RN License
  • Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
  • Certification Requirements:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • DEA
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization- Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) board certification required (if an NP).


Physician Assistant
