Analyst/ Associate: Equity Research, Metals & MiningThe North American Metals & Mining Equity Research team covers a range of metals and mining companies listed on the U.S and Canadian exchanges. The coverage scope includes many different commodities including critical and energy minerals such as copper, rare earths, tungsten, and uranium; precious metals; industrial metals; and steel. While the team focuses on North American listed companies, metals & mining is a global business and BofA a global investment bank and candidates will be required to develop knowledge of foreign jurisdictions and work in extensive coordination with global colleagues. Candidates seeking a global perspective and who might desire the potential for a global career path should fit with the team well. The ideal candidate for the position should be intellectually curious, have strong experience with financial modeling, financial statement analysis and quantitative analysis as well as strong verbal and writing skills.
Responsibilities- Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work.
- Write regular industry and company reports and launch company initiations from scratch.
- Develop and maintain databases integral to our research product.
- Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment.
- Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes.
- Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies.
- Participate and contribute to client meetings and events.
- Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders.
- Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to analyst when traveling.
- Seek out new, unusual sources of information.
- Leverage our robust network of industry contacts.
- Interact regularly with clients.
Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree with a preference toward MBA's
- CFA designation or working toward one an asset
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, buy/sell side research, banking, or the metals & mining industry preferred
- Must have strong financial modeling skills
- Experience with Bloomberg and/or Factset tools a distinct positive.
- Major(s) and areas of academic excellence must include Accounting, Finance or Engineering Preferred
- Strong writing and spreadsheet skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel.
- Must enjoy working in industry databases and websites, and doing desktop and field research.
- Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics.
- Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Must work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Must have the ability to perform in a fast-paced and sometimes intense environment.

Pay and benefits information
Pay range
$110,000.00 - $175,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
Discretionary incentive eligible
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
