Full Job Description
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing detailed sensor design and analysis for custom CMOS image sensors. The position spans all phases of the design cycle, including specification development, architecture, circuit design, simulation, layout, verification, silicon bring-up, testing, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Sensor Design & Development
  • Lead and oversee all phases of sensor development, including specification, design, tapeout, testing, and transition to product.
  • Develop sensor architectures and detailed designs that meet customer and product requirements.
  • Perform detailed circuit analysis, design, simulation, layout, and verification of mixed-signal circuits.
  • Ensure designs are executed efficiently and in accordance with technical specifications and project schedules.

Customer & Technical Collaboration
  • Partner with customers to understand application requirements and translate them into detailed sensor specifications.
  • Communicate technical requirements, design status, performance expectations, and project updates to customers and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to execute designs and resolve technical challenges.

Foundry & Product Realization Support
  • Interface with foundry partners to understand process technologies and support successful design implementation.
  • Manage pixel design activities and evaluate pixel performance throughout development.
  • Oversee tapeout and fabrication activities to ensure design readiness and successful execution.
  • Work with test engineering teams to develop test hardware and test plans.
  • Support chip bring-up, characterization, analysis, and validation of silicon performance.


Requirements:

Education
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
  • M.S. or Ph.D. preferred.

Technical Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical analog/mixed-signal design experience in image sensors or related fields.
  • Expert-level experience with transistor-level circuit design, simulation, and verification using modern EDA tools such as Cadence, Siemens, Synopsys, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ADC architectures used in image sensor readout applications.
  • Experience with: Bandgap references and bias circuits, operational amplifiers, switched-cap circuits, LDOs, PLLs, SERDES, high-speed TX, feedback and compensation techniques
  • Strong expertise in noise analysis, transistor and capacitor matching, and identifying sources of error in analog integrated circuits.
  • Experience across the complete mixed-signal IC design flow, including DFT, timing analysis, top-level chip integration, tapeout, and silicon bring-up.
  • Prior experience leading a design team is highly preferred.
