This posting is to fill two full-time permanent positions.
We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our Transportation team. This position is responsible for assuming an incident commander role in aircraft fire rescue operations and ensuring the safe evacuation of passengers and crew, initiating fire suppression and prevention activities, carrying out fire prevention activities, performing routine maintenance of firefighting equipment, and carrying out other duties related to fire, health and safety, and security programs at the Erik Nielson Whitehorse International Airport (ENWIA).

Essential QualificationsPlease submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume; ensure you use a month/year to month/year format and include the duties you performed in each of your positions.
- Experience providing emergency response, rescue, firefighting, or related operational services
- Experience providing operational leadership and incident command within a fire service environment, including supervising, coaching, and developing firefighters and planning, delivering, and evaluating practical, drill, and scenario-based training
- Completion of NFPA 1001 Level 1 Minimum and completion of NFPA 1003
- Current Standard First Aid certification with CPR-C/AED and Oxygen Administration/Oxygen Therapy
- Valid Class 3 driver's license with air endorsements or equivalent
- Current Canadian Aviation Regulation 323.14 Burn Certification would be considered an asset

Conditions of Employment This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:
- Class 3 driver's licence with air endorsement or equivalent
- Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) (to be met within 3 months of hire)
- Annual airport firefighter fitness appraisal
- Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP) (to be met within 1 month of hire)
- Restricted radio operator certificate with aeronautical qualification (ROC-A) (to be met within 1 month of hire)
- Valid passport or equivalent
- Incident Command System I-200 (to be met within 3 months of hire)
Job Requirements This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:
- Shift work including weekends and stat holidays
- Wear a uniform provided by the department
- Complete an Annual Fitness Appraisal
- Travel may be required
- Work in adverse weather conditions
