Job Description

Honeywell Flight Operations is seeking a highly qualified and safety-focused Pilot-in-Command (Captain) to lead corporate flight operations and ensure the safe, legal, and efficient operation of company aircraft. The captain serves as the final authority for the operation of the aircraft and is responsible for exercising sound judgment, leadership, and professionalism while delivering exceptional service to our passengers.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, operational excellence, and a commitment to safety while operating in a dynamic global business aviation environment.

You will report directly to our Chief Pilot and you'll work out of our Charlotte, NC location on an On-site work schedule.

Responsibilities

Flight Leadership and Operational Control
  • Maintain operational control and oversight of assigned flight operations.
  • Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, teamwork, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support and actively participate in the Flight Department Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Exercise independent operational judgment to ensure the safety of passengers, crew members, aircraft, and company assets.


Preflight Planning and Preparation
  • Verify aircraft airworthiness, registration status, and required onboard documentation.
  • Review weather, NOTAMs, operational restrictions, and other relevant flight information.
  • Determine fuel, oxygen, and mission requirements.
  • Ensure weight and balance limitations are met.
  • Verify that navigation and operational databases are current or legally authorized for use.
  • Ensure Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs), including company-issued iPads and applications, are operational and current.
  • Confirm completion of all flight planning and mission requirements.
  • Verify that required crew certificates, medical certificates, passports, visas, and travel documents remain valid.
  • Ensure compliance with airport-specific operating procedures, noise abatement requirements, and environmental restrictions.
  • Conduct or oversee required aircraft inspections prior to departure.


Crew and Passenger Management
  • Ensure all crew members are fit for duty and capable of safely performing assigned responsibilities.
  • Verify passenger manifests and ensure passengers are properly received and accounted for.
  • Conduct or oversee passenger safety briefings.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment for passengers.
  • Serve as the primary operational representative of the Flight Department during customer interactions.


Flight Operations
  • Operate aircraft in accordance with applicable regulations, company policies, standard operating procedures, aircraft limitations, and approved checklists.
  • Maintain continuous situational awareness throughout all phases of flight.
  • Monitor aircraft systems, weather conditions, and fuel status to ensure safe mission completion.
  • Coordinate effectively with Air Traffic Control and operational support organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international regulatory requirements, including customs, immigration, agricultural, and cabotage regulations.


Post-Flight and Safety Reporting
  • Complete required post-flight inspections, reports, and administrative documentation.
  • Record flight times, aircraft discrepancies, and maintenance issues.
  • Communicate operational changes, schedule deviations, and other mission-related updates as required.
  • Report accidents, incidents, regulatory issues, and safety concerns through established reporting channels.
  • Preserve flight recorder and cockpit voice recorder information following an accident or incident.
  • Provide timely reporting of hazardous weather or conditions affecting aviation safety.
  • Support investigation, compliance, and safety reporting activities as required


Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Chief Pilot in support of Flight Department operations.

  • Hold qualifications necessary to operate assigned aircraft and missions.
  • Possess strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and crew resource management skills.
  • Be willing and able to travel internationally as required by the business, and possess or be eligible to obtain any necessary visas or passports for travel.
