Role OverviewKKR's Insurance business is investing to apply AI more deeply across how we operate, spanning investment, actuarial, ALM, finance, and operations workflows. We are targeting an AI Solutions resource working directly into the business to lead that effort on the ground.
This is a hands-on role, bringing a critical thinking / problem solving skill set along with AI and/or engineering skills. Rather than sit in a central technology function, you will embed alongside the teams who do the work, identify the highest-value problems AI can solve, and build and ship the tools that solve them, owning the full arc from discovery to production and scale.
Responsibilities- Embed directly with Insurance stakeholders: investing, actuarial, ALM, portfolio management, finance, and operations, to surface high-value, AI-addressable problems.
- Build and ship AI / LLM-powered tools and workflows end-to-end: data pipelines, agents and automations, and user-facing applications.
- Re-engineer and automate manual workflows; measure adoption and business impact, then scale what works across the franchise.
- Integrate AI capabilities with internal data, models, and platforms - ensuring solutions are production-grade, secure, and compliant.
- Partner with central data, engineering, and AI teams, acting as the bridge between them and the Insurance business.
- Set the standard for how the Insurance business adopts AI, pragmatically, safely, and at pace.
Qualifications- 3-5 years building and shipping production software, ideally in a forward-deployed, solutions-engineering, or applied-AI capacity.
- Strong, current hands-on engineering: Python and modern data tooling; practical experience with LLM / AI frameworks (RAG, agents, prompt orchestration) and APIs.
- A demonstrated record of deploying AI / automation that drove measurable business outcomes - not just prototypes.
- A product mindset: comfort with ambiguity, talking directly to users, and owning outcomes end-to-end.
- Excellent communication - able to translate fluidly between technical and business audiences.
- Exposure to financial services, insurance, or asset management strongly preferred; comfort with credit, fixed income, actuarial, or ALM data a clear plus.
- Bias to action, intellectual curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership.
