Description
Oversees aggregate processing, maintenance and repairs, and assists plant managers in planning and execution of all operations.
Essential Functions of the Position:
• Perform oversight of aggregate processing, and maintenance and repair activities. Will provide guidance and direction to the Aggregate Plant Managers in all operations.
• Responsible for daily production reporting and inventory management.
• Maintain working relationships with all departments to ensure work objectives can be met.
• Develop plans to work towards improved performance and lower operating costs.
• Assure that products meet specifications and high standards of quality.
• Analyze equipment use and plant processes for efficiency, power/fuel utilization and costs. Initiate recommendations for improvements.
• Ensure proper equipment use and maintenance.
• Promote a strong safety culture and help provide oversight of safe work practices, provide a safe work environment and safety training. Actively engage with the employees to reinforce safe behaviors.
• Assure high environmental standards and compliance with applicable permits and regulations.
• Help ensure a high level of customer service and client satisfaction.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Demonstrable experience in the management of crushing, screening, washing, and stockpiling to produce high quality construction aggregates.
• Good analytical, communication, organizational and leadership skills.
• Familiar with systematic engineering thought process and problem solving.
• Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the ability to communicate operational information to various parties.
• Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations regarding mining operations including MSHA, OSHA, Cal OSHA, and SMARA.
Requirements:
• Must have a valid class C driver's license.
• Driver record cannot contain any reckless driving offences, DUI's, leaving the scene of an accident etc.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling and/or action/discipline.

Physical Demands:
• Ability to work outside in various extreme weather conditions while sitting or standing for extensive periods of time.
• Ability to walk or climb through unfinished grade with loose and moist soil.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders of various lengths, sizes, and distances.
• Ability to kneel, lift, reach, or shovel up to 25 pounds.
