Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager oversees accounting operations for the company's aggregate business. This role is responsible for general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, payroll entries, fixed assets, loan accounting, and support of accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. The position works closely with operations teams and provides accounting support to multiple company locations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment.
Key Responsibilities• Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Process payroll-related accounting entries and royalty payments.
• Maintain fixed asset and loan accounting records.
• Support Accounts Receivable, collections, and Accounts Payable functions.
• Partner with quarry, scale house, sales, and operations personnel to resolve accounting and billing issues.
• Travel to company locations as needed to provide accounting support and training.
• Assist with audits, process improvements, and special projects.
Qualifications- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
- Experience with fixed assets, payroll accounting, and financing transactions preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel periodically to company locations.
