Job Summary
Skyline Scientific is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to support modeling and simulation, hypersonic systems analysis, and data fusion for national security customers. This role blends aerospace engineering fundamentals with hands-on software and analytic work, turning sensor data into insight on the performance of complex aerospace systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between engineering fundamentals, model development, and collaboration with analysts and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Develop functional and predictive aerodynamic models for integration into complex data analysis systems
Apply aerospace engineering and physics fundamentals to model and assess the performance of aerospace systems
Support data fusion and trajectory analysis efforts
Test and integrate algorithms into deployable software
Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and government stakeholders to support operational needs
Communicate technical findings through briefings, papers, and presentations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
Strong understanding of first-principles physics and its application to real-world engineering problems
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement aerodynamic models to predict aerospace system performance and establish performance boundaries
Ability to collaborate with analysts and engineers to integrate software models into operational workflows
Proficiency in Matlab/Python for model development and performance data analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with GEOINT and/or SIGINT
Experience with physics-based signature/performance modeling, data fusion
Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field
Experience supporting DoD or IC customers or programs
Current Top Secret/SCI clearance required; full-scope polygraph a plus
Education & Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree required in a qualifying technical field (see Required Qualifications); Master's degree preferred
Able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
