Job DescriptionAero Gas Turbine Structural Analysis EngineerTurbine Durability | East Hartford, CT or Palm Beach Gardens, FLWe are seeking an engineer to evaluate the structural durability of gas turbine components supporting Pratt & Whitney aerospace programs. In this role, you will use finite element analysis to assess component performance, investigate technical issues, and communicate recommendations that improve reliability.
What you'll do- Perform structural and durability analyses of turbine components, including stress, vibration, and fatigue assessments.
- Build and interpret finite element models to evaluate component performance against design and customer requirements.
- Read engineering drawings and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles, including ASME Y14.5M.
- Work with design and other engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve component durability.
- Investigate potential failure modes, support root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective or mistake-proofing actions.
- Document methods, results, and recommendations in clear technical reports and presentations.
What you'll bring- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- At least 5 years of relevant gas turbine engineering experience, including hands-on structural analysis; 8 or more years preferred.
- Experience using finite element analysis tools for stress, vibration, or fatigue analysis.
- Strong understanding of gas turbine operation and the relationship between component design and durability.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and communicate analysis results to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for technical documentation and presentations.
Preferred: Experience with Pratt & Whitney products and standards, particularly GTF compressor or turbine rotor hardware.
