Our Critical Care Unit provides comprehensive, around-the-clock care to acutely ill patients with complex medical and surgical needs.

Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) will play a key role in providing high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in the CCU. The APP will work collaboratively with attending physicians, residents, nurses, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and management of critically ill adult patients in the CCU.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging studies.
  • Initiate and manage appropriate therapeutic interventions, including medications, procedures, and care plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate effectively with the care team, patients, and families.
  • Manage ventilators, titrate vasopressors, and support other critical care therapies under established protocols.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians to ensure continuity of care and adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, education, and training activities within the department.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NYS license as an NP or PA.
  • National certification as an NP or PA required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of critical care or acute care experience preferred.
  • DEA license required or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
  • Excellent clinical, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Posted Salary Range

USD $69.54 - USD $93.00 /Hr.
