Jones Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Neurology practice. This position provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered neurological care in a collaborative outpatient setting.
The APP will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a variety of neurological conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Essential Responsibilties:- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories, neurological examinations, and clinical assessments.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions within the scope of practice.
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing, including laboratory studies, imaging, and other neurological evaluations as appropriate.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, follow-up care, and referrals.
- Monitor patient progress, assess treatment effectiveness, and adjust care plans as clinically indicated.
- Collaborate with supervising or collaborating physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding neurological conditions, treatment options, medications, and ongoing disease management.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records, including appropriate documentation, coding, and completion of patient encounters.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical protocols, and practice development activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, professional standards, and organizational policies.
QualificationsRequired:- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current New York State licensure and registration as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, or eligibility to obtain prior to employment.
- Current national certification appropriate to the applicable discipline.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate medical staff privileges at Jones Memorial Hospital.
- DEA registration or eligibility to obtain, as applicable to the position.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Preferred:- Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in neurology, internal medicine, or a related specialty.
- Familiarity with neurological assessments, diagnostic testing, and management of neurological conditions.
- Experience with electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
New graduate Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants will be considered. Neurology-specific experience is preferred but not required.
