Job SummaryAFC Urgent Care in Temple is seeking an advanced practice provider to evaluate and treat patients with non-life threating illnesses and injuries. The provider will deliver compassionate care with positive experience to all patients and work closely with the clinic team.
Responsibilities - Diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans for patients within an urgent care setting
- Evaluate patients with acute illnesses and injuries and prescribe appropriate medications as required
- Order, interpret and follow up on diagnostic tests as well as provide referrals to the appropriate health care facilities
- Perform minor procedures when required within the scope of the practice
- Explain diagnosis, treatment instructions, warning signs and follow up plans to patients
- Complete and sign-off patient charts on a daily basis
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications- Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family
- Professional appearance and attitude
- ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certified - (with 1 yr ER/UC experience preferred)
- Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice, DEA number, and state-controlled substance certificate, as required
- Able to multi-task and work independently
