Position Description for Staff Psychiatrist
  • Provides psychiatric evaluation and ongoing psychiatric care of clients by performing mental status examinations, diagnostic assessments, supportive therapy, and pharmacological management.
  • Meets with team to review and direct staff's response to participant psychiatric or medical emergencies, emerging problems, and ongoing treatment.
  • Provides input, reviews, and signs the Individual Service Plan.
  • Provides information and education to staff, families, and participants on the course of illness and treatment.
  • Assesses the participant for benefits of medication intervention and provides medication monitoring and assessment.
  • Provides accurate, timely documentation of assessment and care provided to GCB clients.
  • Completes emergency psychiatric evaluations of participants as needed.
  • Collaborates with and provides supervisory oversight to Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).

Position Requirements for Staff Psychiatrist
  • Open to Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Psychiatrists (MD/DO).
  • Ohio MD or DO license required.
  • Valid, unrestricted DEA number required.
  • Must be flexible, creative, and adaptive in handling changing priorities.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in psychopharmacology including long-acting injectables.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a collaborative manner.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills.

Schedule
  • Weekdays during clinic hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.); shifts may vary based on the staff member's preference.
  • Full-time, 32-40 hours per week.
  • Location: Madison office and Amelia office.
